AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, is a striker with San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the highest level of women's soccer in United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 with Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. [8][98][9] Morgan was chosen as the top pick in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she completed her degree early at the University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut with the club and assisted the team win the league championship. Morgan was 22 years old at the time and the youngest member of the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team finished second. In the 123rd minutes of the semifinal game against Canada in the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She finished 2012 with 28 goals and 21 assists as she joined Mia Hamm as the only American woman who scored 20 goals and record 20 assists during the same year, she became the sixth and the tiniest U.S. player to score 20 goals in one season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and was a FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan helped to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was also named to the Dream Team. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
